The series of Scandal: putting the ruling party down

The series of scandals: Scandals and controversies related to bribing of political leaders of the ruling and opposition party are no more novel issues in the short political history of Nepal. Every week, or at least within an interval of a month, new scandals of political leaders embroiled in some controversies get viral throughout the nation, especially in social media bringing the new cause of despair and anguish to citizens around the nation. With the dire hope of witnessing prosperous and developed nations, people around the country elected KP Sharma Oli and his companion as one of the strongest governments of the history. Nepalese people who were exhausted from the repeated ephemeral and turbulent government system before were seeking some hope of rise and shine on the current ruling party leading by KP Sharma Oli. Unfortunately, the government has not been able to persuade even their own followers on their favors in recent times leaking their fame and popularity. Despite powerful government, the constructional work and developmental project are not going in bearable rate and they are not getting momentum as they were supposed to take before the formation of the government. The questions must be raised when the stewardship for the development and constructional works were repeatedly taken by the Dhurmus-Suntali Foundation raising money from common people. This is totally disgusting and the government needs to be serious about these kinds of issues.
The series of scandals and controversies of the ministers from the alleged rape case of  Krishna Bahadur Mahara-Bishnu Poudel's illegal land transaction to Gokul Baskota's 70 crore bribe has put the government completely down as result effectiveness and popularity of government has been constantly impaired and wrecking.

The dealing audio recording for a commission (70 crore) by Gokul Baskota with Swish agent has gone abruptly viral in the social media today, due to which he was compelled to resign from his ministry post. These are the few representative cases that were being caught mistakenly. So we can easily speculate how corrupted this government has been. The frequent scandals and controversies embroiled by their own ministers have made the journey of KP Sharma Oli as a prime minister more difficult and troublesome. In recent times he found busy dealing with controversies of their own ministers and rescuing them from the arduous situation rather than vesting his energy on building a prosperous and developed nation. These kinds of situation have created complete havoc around the nation and questions have started to rise gradually against the government, simultaneously looking for better options for the next election.

The sensitivity of Chure region

Chure region of Nepal: The Chure region runs along the flank of the northern base on the Himalayas of Nepal extending from the far-western region of Kanchanpur to the western part of the Jhap district. It is the most sensitive and fragile mountain range of Nepal but conversely, it possesses surmountable diversity and has been an imperative biological and ecological corridor linking the Terai and the Mountain region of the country. Additionally, it is an important water recharge zone of terai and provides multiple intangible environmental services from where thousands of people living downstream benefit from it.
Chure (Siwalik) range

It covers about 12% terrestrial land area of Nepal. The anthropogenic impacts had exacerbated its severity and sensitivity leading to irreplicable damage and destruction to the biodiversity and watershed condition.  The condition has been further intensified by global climate change, causing drought, unconditional floods, and the inundation of exotic and invasive species. As a result, the decrease in productivity, uncertainties of environmental services, degradation of the Chure landscape are the prominent impacts, which are creating hardship for the people residing around the Chure and Terai region.

Acknowledging all these harshnesses due to improper management and utilization of the Chure region, the Government had emphasized and promulgated various Chure conservation programs. However, most of the programs had turned out to be futile, making negligible progress regarding the conservation and restoration of the Chure landscape. The various studies have shown the intimidating future of the Chure landscape if proper management and conservation interventions are not taken at the right time.

Recently, The government of Nepal has formulated Master plan for Terai Madhesh Chure Conservation 2074, which aims to protect, conserve and extract optimum benefits from it without adversely affecting it's natural condition.

Reminiscing My Childhood

Reminiscing My Childhood: Every person's childhood carries different, joyful and challenging circumstances and I do also have some kinds of child stories and some moment which brings me back to those days, time and often. Very often, I feel privileged and fortunate to be born on an identical middle-class family, when those beautiful and mesmerizing moments provoke on my mind and heart. After being young and struggling in ruthless Kathmandu and confining on a rectangular shape small room and dreaming big parallelly, these kinds of childhood memory provides immense happiness and a  kind of respite from that hectic and busy mind and time at the same time.
I grew up in a complex family, with the care of grandfather, grandmother. My grandfather was a teacher and so I got a bountiful opportunity to learn from him as a student. On the other hand my grandmother, mother was a housewife so their responsibility was to finish all the household chores and support growing me up with my other younger brother and sister. Those days were completely different from these colorful and brightening days. There was no electricity, no phones, no TVs, but those childhood days were so pleasing and mesmerizing.
Slowly disappearing rays of the sun used to bring back the evening followed with the dark and fearsome nights for us. Being a small child, dark nights used to be horrifying and scary. There was no electricity at those times so whole the village used to fall into complete dark only putting some beauty by the sound of insects. We used to rely on kerosene light for the brightness at night. My grandfather used to play radio, it used to be around 8 o clock at night. There were no other broadcasting radio channels other than radio Nepal. For the songs, news around the globe and any other information, we need to be catchy and attentive towards radio Nepal. Sometimes melodious and old traditional songs sung on the radio used to hit on my young mind, among them Deuda songs were the one which still gives me subtle pleasure. On those dark nights, music and lyrics of those Deuda songs used to provide some different kinds of impact on my mind. Usually, I used to felt on that music and lyrics of those songs. When I am writing these words, I am envisaging those night crawling and being on a warm lap of my grandfather. Though time has changed, still memories are alive on my mind.

Why we are not sensitive towards nature and bio-diversity?

Nature and biodiversity have been an integral part of homo sapiens since their evolution on earth and it is immensely important today than before. In the past, during the time of evolution human beings used to rely on utilitarian and tangible goods and services that are produced from the forest. But the terms and conditions have been changed, now people mostly rely on intangible services that the forest provides. It's true, we cannot survive without trees and forests but they can survive easily without us. So it is utterly important for us to show greater concern towards the conservation of forest and trees along with the diversity it holds. But the situation is getting worse each and every day, with the insensitive and irresponsible activities of human beings.
When talking about Nepal, it is an immensely beautiful and highly diverse country in the world but the pristine beauty of Nepal is deteriorating and diminishing each and every day. It looks, no one is there to take the stewardship for the conservation of forests, trees, rivers, lakes, and wetlands of Nepal. If we wait still, and search for someone else to make a better environment for us, it will be too late and hard for us to revitalize and regain those same land having in the same condition tomorrow. So the right time has come to step forward by each and every citizen of Nepal for the conservation of the important assets that nature has bestowed to us.
The country is marching forward to pursue drastic economic development but it disappoints us when the approach of development shows no sympathy towards the environment. We are not considering the impacts of inappropriate and unscientific development because it doesn't show the impacts within an hour. The situation has been further intensified by the unprecedented impacts of climate change. Nepal is the 12th most vulnerable country in the world regarding the impact of climate change and slowly we are witnessing the impacts of climate change. The synergy of our negligence and impact of climate change will proliferate the further impacts and it will create a harsh situation, where we can only watch but can not do anything.
Nothing will be late to start and we can make some significant improvements if we made some changes in our developmental approach and perspectives of utilizing natural resources.
